Jamieson Brothers® Oregano Herb Seeds
OREGANO
Oreganum vulgare is a highly aromatic Herb mostly used in Mediterranean dishes. The fresh green leaves can be used fresh or dried. Hardy perennial.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Height: up to 50cm
Exposure: Full sun
Harvest: Spring to Summer
Garden Uses: Great for containers & borders; also good for planting in greenhouse or at home.
Attracts: Bees, butterflies and other pollinators
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Starting Indoors - February-April
Sow seeds 0.5cm deep in trays of moist compost, be careful not to over-water. Store in a warm place at an approx. temperature of 16-18°c. When the seedlings are strong enough to handle they can be transplanted into bigger pots or trays. Do not overcrowd the plants and keep in a warm, light position. Once all chance of frost has passed the plants can be transplanted direct into your desired location, this plant requires a full sun position. Harden off first.
Alternatively, for all year round supply sow indoors in pots.
Sowing Outdoors - April-May
Row width: 30cm
Sow seeds 1.5cm deep direct in growing bed. Keep the soil moist and be careful not to over-water. When large enough to handle thin to 20cm. Harvest before flowers form.
