How to Grow
Planting: Plant 'Priscilla' bulbs in spring after the last frost, in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. For the best effect, plant bulbs in groups or rows for a full, dramatic display. Plant each bulb 10-15cm deep and space them 10-15cm apart to allow room for growth.
Watering: Water the bulbs after planting to help them settle, then keep the soil consistently moist throughout the growing season. During dry spells, water deeply to encourage strong roots and vibrant blooms, but avoid waterlogging.
Feeding: Apply a balanced, liquid fertiliser every two weeks once the shoots emerge. Regular feeding will support strong growth and produce larger, more vibrant flowers. Cease feeding after the flowering period ends.
Staking: 'Priscilla' gladioli can grow tall, so it’s a good idea to provide support, especially in windy locations. Insert stakes or plant supports at planting time to avoid damaging the bulbs later, and gently tie the stems as they grow.
Deadheading and Maintenance: Remove spent flowers to encourage a continued display along the stem. Once the flowering has finished, allow the foliage to die back naturally, as this helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
Overwintering: In colder regions of the UK, it’s best to lift and store the bulbs after the foliage has died back. Carefully dig up the bulbs, allow them to dry, and store them in a cool, frost-free place until replanting in spring. In milder areas, you can leave them in the ground with a layer of mulch for winter protection.

With its soft, pastel-hued blooms and graceful appearance, Gladioli 'Priscilla' brings elegance and charm to the garden, creating a beautiful display from mid-summer to early autumn and making for sophisticated indoor floral arrangements.
